If you’ve ever tried logging into all your social media to update your logo, change your profile picture, add a cover photo or banner, or post a photo, you know the hassle of making sure each of those things fits each platform’s specific size and format requirements so that everything looks its best. There’s so many platforms, so many options for photos, and the fact that these requirements change from year to year, it is impossible to remember it all.
I found a beautiful infographic over at makeawebsitehub.com that explains these requirements perfectly and with attractive, helpful images. The author even went the extra step for his readers: he includes photoshop templates for all the most common social media platforms. How generous!

I use this cheat sheet in my own social media marketing regularly to make sure everything I have is sized correctly the first time, since nothing is more aggravating than having to re-size everything twice!
I also recommend naming your files with the size of the image, the type of image (profile, banner, etc.), and the platform (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) in one file dedicated to images for your social media campaign. This organization makes it easy and fast to upload these images to the web with the least amount of hassle.
Take the time to get it right and ensure brand consistency across all of your outlets!
